My thoughts and sympathies go out to those who died last night and to their families but most especially to the families of the security guards who were no doubt hired after the last break in and who surely gave their lives in an effort to stop the terrorists. Such a terrible thing that men hired to guard such an important facility would have been killed merely for doing their jobs.

Assuming there were such guards. Which I do not think there were or why would Travers have had to call for our aid? For a man who is supposed to be intelligent and trusted, he does not seem to think very much or very well.

I see no reason why I should apologise to a man who cannot run his business properly and cannot anticipate possible future events.

Something that has just occurred to me in light of the radio broadcast this evening, how were these people able to hear and record what was clearly a private discussion between Mr & Mrs Burke in their own home?

It seems to me that somehow these people have been able to infiltrate our homes and place some sort of listening device within them.

Or perhaps they have merely found some way to disguise their voices to sound like others in order to sow dissension within our ranks. For surely such dissension would only work in their favour?

My condolences to the Gibbon family. I have not been in the country for long but from all I have heard and been told, Mireille Gibbon was a fine woman for a fullblood.

One can only hope that the remaining women being held hostage can be freed before they also become victims of these terrorists.

Why is it that people who refuse to use their true names expect people to believe what they say when they offer no evidence to back up their wild accusations? When they admit to such acts of violence as what has happened to the offices of the Daily Prophets? There is nothing about that radio broadcast that interrupted our good Minister last night says it should be believed.

And to think they had the gall to say that these 'Death Eaters' have been doing violent things. But has not all the violence of late come from these terrorists? The destruction of Mr Lestrange's library. The attack on Minister Nott's home. The attack on the Daily Prophet. These acts of violence were not carried out by Death Eaters but by the very people who claim to be in the right.

It seems there is nothing that can be believed in that illegal radio broadcast. No evidence offered, attempts to blame others for their own acts of violence, baseless slander. It is almost laughable.

Does the name Sturgis Podmore mean anything to anyone?

He has asked me for aid in getting some of his family into the country and I would like to know whether this is of any worth.

So here I am in England again. As much as I want to be here and as much as it offers untold opportunities, I do not like it. It smells. Everything tastes wrong. And the people are rude. They do not know how to name people correctly or greet people correctly. If I were to try the traditional kiss to each cheek they would flinch away and look at me as though I have two heads. And it seems so wrong and so disrespectful to refer to people by just one name.

Dolohov does not seem to find this irritating so perhaps it is just me? Perhaps I will get used to it the longer I am here.

My timing for my return is excellent though. It seems there was much pain and injury in that last battle. I was lucky to avoid it. I must thank Comrade Dolohov for his forebearance in not recalling me. Without actually looking like I am thanking him for that, of course.

Ivanov has finally agreed to allow me to set up an extension of the business here in London so I am finally able to return to England on a more permanent basis. Obviously I must ensure I make a profit for him but otherwise my time is mine to place in service to our Lord.

I see that we have recently had a great victory and I congratulate all involved. I am disappointed that I was not able to participate but Ivanov required much in the way of persuasion and I did not dare leave for any length of time and risk him changing his mind.

I am finding London quite different from the Leningrad of my youth and the Moscow where I have recently been living. I do not say the differences are bad but I fear it may be some time before I am truly comfortable.
